L’Organisation Brahma Kumaris est une organisation mondiale qui se consacre à la transformation personnelle L'organisation promeut la prise de conscience collective pour assurer la paix et la dignité de chaque être humain. Elle s'intéresse en permanence à l'élaboration de programmes qui renforcent l'autonomie de l'individu. Fondée en Inde en 1937, l'organisation compte aujourd'hui plus d’un million d’étudiants répartis dans 110 pays.

The Brahma Kumaris is a worldwide organisation dedicated to personal transformation and world renewal through the power of meditation. It has an ongoing interest in developing programs that empower the individual. Originally founded in India in 1937, there are one million students world-wide across 110 countries.

GLOBAL FAMILY/Famille Mondiale

Le siège spirituel L’Organisation Brahma Kumarisse trouve à Mont Abu, dans l’état du Rajasthan, en Inde. Au niveau national, les étudiants coordonnent les activités conformément aux principes spirituels des Brahma Kumaris et également aux lois en vigueur localement. Les activités d'ordre international sont coordonnées à partir des Centres régionaux situés à Londres, Moscou, Nairobi, New York et Sydney.

The spiritual headquarters of The Brahma Kumaris is in Mount Abu, India. At a national level, activities are generally coordinated by local people in alignment with the spiritual principles of The Brahma Kumaris, working in accordance with the laws of the land. Activities of international interest are coordinated regionally from offices in London, Moscow, Nairobi, New York and Sydney.

WOMEN SPIRITUAL LEADERS/Femmes Leaders Spirituels

L’organisation Brahma Kumaris est la plus grande organisation spirituelle au monde dirigée par des femmes. Brahma Baba, le fondateur, avait pris la décision dès le début du mouvement, de placer les femmes au premier plan afin de développer une administration "spirituelle" basée sur l'amour, le courage et la pratique des valeurs. Et depuis plus de 80 ans, ces femmes ont dirigé l'organisation avec un courage inébranlable et un engagement profond dans la promotion de l'unité.

The Brahma Kumaris is the largest spiritual organisation in the world that is led by women and despite the fact that women being in charge was completely unheard of and very controversial back in 1937, Brahma Baba established these young women in their administrative roles and worked with them to develop a ‘spiritual’ administration based on love, courage and virtuous practice from the very beginning. The result was, they grew to have an outstanding capacity and commitment to creating unity. Although women hold the top administrative positions, the women who hold these positions have always made decisions in partnership with the men. It is a partnership and consensus model of leadership, based on respect, equality and humility. As such, it stands as an exemplar of accomplished and harmonious jurisdiction.

THE BRAHMA KUMARIS AT THE UNITED NATIONS/L’Organisation Brahma Kumaris aux Nations Unies

L’Organisation Brahma Kumaris est une organisation internationale non gouvernementale (ONG) affiliée à l’ONU. Nous avons a établi notre premier contact avec les Nations Unies en septembre 1980. Nous avons toujours été motivés par le travail de l'ONU et nous avons voulu renforcer les perspectives spirituelles au niveau personnel, communautaire et mondial. Nos objectifs étaient conformes à ceux des Nations unies et nous voulions favoriser une plus grande prise de conscience des responsabilités sociales, encourager un développement durable centré sur l'être, soutenir le bien-être économique, social, environnemental et humain, et promouvoir l'égalité entre les hommes et les femmes. Au fil des ans, nous avons participé à de nombreuses conférences des Nations Unies, à des réunions préparatoires, à des commissions et préparé des déclarations écrites et orales, organisé des événements parallèles et travaillé avec des comités et des caucus des ONG.

The Brahma Kumaris first connected with the United Nations in September 1980 and is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) of the UN. We were always motivated by the work of the UN and wanted to enhance spiritual perspectives at a personal, community and global level. Our aims were in line with the aims of the UN and we wanted to facilitate a greater awareness of social responsibilities, foster sustainable human-centred development, support economic, social, environmental and human well-being, and promote gender equality. Over the years, we have attended numerous UN Conferences, preparatory meetings, commissions and prepared written and oral statements, hosted parallel events and worked with NGO committees and caucuses.
